25 weeks

It is starting to get harder to take these weekly pictures now that Caden is taking more interest in paper.

Caden with his new favorite teether toy, yes that is a rubber spatula. He has figured out that if he rests it on the countertop he won't really have to hold it. He is so slobbery (is that a word?) these days, just waiting for that first tooth to come in!

Here he is up on all fours and trying to crawl. He has pulled his butt up and gotten onto his knees a few times, but I try to help him get up there and then he holds this position for a few minutes. So far he doesn't really move his hands/knees, but he has started the rocking motion...so maybe crawling isn't too far off. His motivation here was to get to Nia...we keep telling her that one day he will catch her.

After 11 inches of snow (and some ice) over 2-3 days, our neighbors were nice enough to come over and clear off our driveway for us. I knew that Bill was coming over, but then i looked out the window and saw 3 men working on the driveway, 2 Bill's and 1 Bob. And Ruth came also to shovel and take Nia over to their house to play with Ben, the yellow lab.

After the fabulous surprise clean-up on our driveway, Mark and I took Peanut Butter cookies and beer around to the neighbors alone with a visit from Caden. This is Caden's first big snow and trip out to see what winter is like in Troy, OH.

Here is our snow bunny in his snowsuit.
After the trek to three houses, we ended at the Barney's house and stayed to warm up by the fire and have a glass of wine. Ruth and Bill are the best!
Also...update on the Reed baby. Kyley is due today, but has not had their baby yet.
I will keep you posted!

24 Weeks

Here is our little munchkin at 24 weeks old. Sorry, I got a little behind.

Caden has really been enjoying new tastes! So far his favorite is sweet potatoes and apples, but he also likes carrots, bananas, peas, and prunes. He has an activity table that he loves to stand in front of, smacking the buttons and the lights. His sitting is getting better and better and he can almost sit on his own. Also, he has been rolling from belly to back for a little while and now is showing interest in rolling the other way. What else...Mark has started him on a strict training program to practice his catching. Ha, Ha. Mark sits him in the boppy on the floor and he loves it! Caden gets his hands up and then the ball lands in his lap...Mark enjoys it as much as Caden.
So far we do not see/feel any teeth, but I think they will be here any day now.

Caden's baptism weekend

My parents and Jen and Brian came down Friday night, while Joe, Amy, Joey and their dog Molly came down Sat morning. It was great to see them and catch up and enjoy the little guys. We enjoyed a great meal on Sat night along with some great wine and stories of our past trip to Italy. It was fun to relive the memories and laugh our butts off! We also watched Get Smart and Mamma Mia over the weekend, both great movies! Hopefully you are not overwhelmed with all the pictures and the videos from this weekend. We hope you enjoy!

Dad tickling Caden's belly and making him laugh, how can you not love that laugh!

A video of Grandpa feeding Caden caviar...I mean peas. He started sitting in his high chair a few weeks ago and has been such a good eater. His favorites are peas, sweet potatoes and most recently bananas.

Here is a brief clip of Joey playing peek-a-boo

Here is another of Joey having fun. When he gets tired he starts laughing and screaming, not in a bad way.

And for all you dog lovers...here is a clip of Molly and Nia playing outside in the snow. They had a great weekend and were pooped by the time Sunday rolled around.

This past Sunday we had Caden's baptism at St Patrick Church in Troy. It was fantastic and such an experience. Caden was the only one baptized at the mass and he was like our little "king". We processed in with Father Joseph, sat in the front row, was baptized (and didn't cry!)and then Father walked him up and down the aisle to welcome and show him off to the congregation. It was great...he loved it! We had our families over to our house afterwards for lunch and cake and to see the little guy.

I love Caden's little outfit...he wore a silk suit that was probably not for the winter season. But he wore it well and enjoyed sucking on the blanket that kept him warm.

Payton Grace Brewer

We were able to meet Payton last week Friday when she came home from the hospital...and fell in love with her! She is so stinkin' cute! And I love the dark hair! Hopefully it stays dark, we could use some more brunettes in the family, especially now that Caden has turned on us! Here are a few pics of the new babe and the happy big sisters! Maddie told me that she is going to change all the "pee pee" diapers. What a great little babysitter. So cute.

23 weeks

After being cooped up in the house with me and Caden, Nia was more than ready to get out of the house! As soon as I let Nia out in the snow she took off running around the yard. She absolutely loves playing in the snow! (Also, you can hear in the background that Caden woke up just as I started videotaping. For those grandparents that cannot stand hearing the little boy cry...turn your volume down;))

2 more girls!!

Scot, Amanda, Maddie and Izzy welcomed a baby girl to the family yesterday. Payton Grace Brewer arrived at 10:52am and she was 10pounds 8ounces. She has dark hair and is cute as can be! Mommy and baby are doing great! We cannot wait to meet her!
Also, Ryan and Liz are expecting a new baby girl in June!
CONGRATS to you all!

Bath time in the bumbo! Now that Caden is wanting to sit up more, we tried the bumbo out in the tub and he loved it! He is so curious about the water coming out of the faucet. I sat him close to the faucet so he could feel the water and that made him giggle! He isn't that interested in splashing in the water, but does like some of the toys.

After bath I decided to try out a different hairdo for the little guy.

5 months old

Caden is all about his feet now when he sees them. And a few days ago he realized that he can put them in his mouth!

Even though the activity mat has a lot of fun stuff to look at and pull on, Caden squirmed over and found the tags the other day and was pretty serious about reading what they said!

Playing with friends

We had Amy and Rob Winner (plus Andrew and Isaac) and Tricia Geiser along with her little one Kristin over to our house last Friday night for dinner and play time for the rugrats. Here are a few pics of the little ones playing nice. They all enjoyed the activity table that Caden got for xmas, although Isaac doesn't appear to be having fun. Going clockwise around the table...Caden, Andrew, Kristin with Amy, Isaac with Tricia and Nia of course. Nia couldn't get enough of the little ones, she wanted to be right there with her monkey, a new toy she got for xmas. Andrew is great for getting Nia ready for when Caden will be running around.

The three munchkins lying under the activity mat. They loved the dangly toys and the mirror.

Isaac and Caden, so freakin' cute!

I know the Browns are not doing well, but we are still fans and Caden is too by default. Here is his first Browns outfit!
