Film fest weekend

The last two weekends we have been busy. Sept 10th we celebrated our 4 yr anniversary and went out to dinner at La Piazza in Troy. Caden came for the occasion and it was so nice to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the weather. We cannot believe that it has been that long...time sure flies. Then Sat night we went up to Ft Loramie for Dan and Michelle Subler's wedding! Congrats you guys! It was nice to get out for the night and see some friends we haven't seen in awhile. (Not a great pic, but a pic nonetheless.)
Dad and Caden watching the Browns play...and lose, again. grrrr.
See the video below of what Mark has taught Caden about watching the Browns.

Caden is a big fan of the rock water fountain outside and the chalkboard I bought from a mom's mart sale. See the video below to watch how much fun Caden is having despite the cool Sept day. And notice Nia off to the side waiting for the hose to be turned on!

Enjoying some watermelon.

The boys in the wagon at WACO fly-in.

The boys at WACO airfield for the fly-in this weekend. The planes started coming in on Friday a lot of them went over our house. Caden was in heaven. Everytime he heard a plane he would point to the sky/ceiling and try to find them. Too cute.

My little Tigger! I found this Tigger costume at Once Upon a Child and couldn't resist! Thought I would bring it out this weekend to give it a test run. He didn't mind it too much, kept it on for the picture and then started overheating.

Joey dressed as Tigger. He liked wearing the hat so much that I thought he was going to wear it all day long!

Videos of Caden

I found some videos that I forgot to post and thought I would share them. Caden is doing great, had a case of the sniffles this week but has still been pretty happy and fun, not too cranky. Mark and I are doing well, just getting ready for the party this weekend. Baby #2 is growing and moving a lot lately! I am feeling good and just trying to remind myself to take it easy when i can, which is hard to do! And now for the videos...enjoy!

funny laugh

Caden thinks it is hilarious when we chase him or when Mark scares him from around the corner.

Lately, Caden has been very in tune to what he is hearing. He hears the airplanes, trucks and school buses and automatically wants to look in the air or out the window to see them. He also gets so excited when Mark comes home from work that he either races to the front door/window to see him or screeches and claps when he sees him come around the corner. It is so funny and great to see him get so excited!

Labor day weekend trip

On Friday we drove up to South Bend, leaving Troy around 10am or so. It was great, Caden slept part of the way up there and we made it up there in about 4 hours. We got up there, checked into the wonderful Ivy Court (although expensive, it was worth every penny for the convenience and location), called my cousin Rosemarie and met up with her as we walked around campus. Then we met up with Mark's cousin Derek and saw his amazingly tight dorm room (I don't miss those days, but it does bring back memories). We made it to the soccer game on Friday night, then tailgate and football game on saturday night, then mass on sunday morning and we were on our way home. Another whirlwind weekend, but so much fun. Here are some pics to share and hopefully I will have more to add since my family was sure to get some other shots.
Caden and Dad in front of "Touchdown Jesus"

Caden enjoying crawling around on Friday afternoon. He is not walking yet, but it won't be long now.

We forgot to get a picture with Derek (Mark's cousin who is a freshman at ND), but we did pose in front of his room that is also Regis Philbin's old dorm room.

No pics of my cousin Rose, but here is the brand new stadium and the lockerooms in the background. They opened the stadium up for this game against UNC even though the stadium/lockeroom are not done yet! Unfortunately the Irish couldn't pull off a win agains UNC, maybe next time! I can't believe that I didn't get any pics of Caden in his ND jersey, hopefully some of my fam did. He was a trooper at the soccer game although delirious and flirting with the girls behind us, he was funny showing them all his "tricks". He has proven to be a pretty good traveler and along with the sound machine and pack n' play he can sleep just about anywhere.

ND vs Nevada
Gooooo ND!! We watched the soccer game Friday night and then got up Sat to join the crowds to tailgate. The boys were real troopers the entire day. Many thanks to Aunt Mary and Uncle Tom for the great seats (in the shade), a fantastic tailgate setup and to JulieAnn for watching Caden while we went to the game! You guys are the best!

BABY UPDATE: I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything is still looking good. Baby's heartbeat was around 150bpm but the baby was moving so much that she was having a hard time getting a good reading. I am feeling good, just slowing down a little more. This week I have started to feel a little short of breath now that the baby is getting bigger and interfering with my lung capacity. It is hard to believe that #2 will be here soon it has definitely creeped up on us! Bring it on!

Busy weekend!

Last week my old Americorps friend Peter and his girlfriend Nola came for a quick visit on his way back to Baltimore. Here is Nia trying to get into the picture! Caden, unfortunately was sleeping during picture time.

On Friday, our wonderful neighbors Bill and Ruth invited us to go to the Dragon's baseball game in Dayton. Caden's first baseball game! He absolutely loved Heater and Gem the Dragons and all the dancing and music. We ended up leaving early from the game due to rain and a sleepy boy, but we did stay long enough to get Dippin' Dots!

On Saturday we loaded the car up early and left around 10am to go down to Newport on the Levee. The Aquarium only allows strollers on certain days/times, so he rode around in the backpack with Mark while at the aquarium. He loved being so close to the fish and couldn't stop pointing at everything! It was great!

Little boy sleepy after lunch, but ready to push on through for the Duck tours!
